Essentials for your workbox Your weekly preparation will be easier if, at the beginning of your course you have the basic flower arranger`s equipment permanently gathered together in a container. They are as follows: • Note pad and pen • Bin liner to cover the table • Carrier bag • Sharp kitchen scissors or seceteurs • An old kitchen knife for cutting the floral foam • Plastic frogs (a four pronged device to hold the floral foam) • Fix (a sticky substance to secure the floral foam to the dish) • Pot tape (a means of holding the foam, frog and dish together) • Cocktail sticks are a useful addition • Elastoplasts
Materials needed for first week • 1 dish about 8in / 20cm across • Bushy foliage, ie, hebe and box • Ivy and oak leaves • 2 small sunflowers • 5 roses • Seed heads and berries • 1 medium willow sphere, or supple silver birch twigs to make a sphere • Green oasis, and other items from your basic workbox
